The Cocomar Beachfront Hotel is located in front of the sea at Palo Seco Beach. Just a short 2 hours and 20 minutes from the capital San Jose, you can find us in the Central Pacific between Jaco and Manuel Antonio. Cocomar can be easily accessed by car or automobile, however, we are secluded enough from the hustle and bustle of everyday societal life to ensure you that your peace and tranquility will always come first. Instead of ambulance sirens, trucks honking, and bus brakes screeching, you will be comforted by sounds such as the soft thunder of ocean waves crashing, the ocean breeze dancing in the palm fronds, and the enlightening songs of tropical birds and parrots. Even though you can arrive by cars and 4x4, Palo Seco beach is secluded from the crowd and from the car noise. During your stay, you will be pampered in paradise by our bilingual workforce members as we strive to make you your favorite cocktails by the pool, organize your tours, and much more. No need to get in your car to go to the beach while you are at Cocomar. There is nothing between you and the beach except a few palm trees as our hotel is the true definition of beachfront.
Don't want to do anything? No worries, you have found the perfect paradise for just that. Simply relax on your room's balcony to witness a life-changing sunset while we prepare your room service dinner down in the restaurant. Still not relaxing enough? Although we don't have a spa, we have great connections with some of the locals who are trained massage therapists and will bring their mobile spa right to your room. Ask us in reception about more information and prices. While you're there, maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to grab a hammock and then stop by the restaurant for a piña colada on your way out to the beach.
Playa Palo Seco runs parallel to the Pacific Ocean and one of the world's most mineral rich estuaries as it contains 12 out of the 15 total mangrove species here on Earth. We are happy to offer you tours with some of our local associates, so you can experience this first hand. You have the opportunity to but are not guaranteed to see white-faced capuchin monkeys, raccoons, iguanas, basilic lizards, and a massive variety of tropical birds. On the other side is the Pacific Ocean and Playa Palo Seco Beach. Literally miles and miles of unspoiled virgin beach with soft volcanic ash sand and more palm trees than the eye can see. The beach frequently surges with life, and you can find species of tropical birds, butterflies, iguanas, crabs, and most exciting of all is that we are seasonally graced with 3 different types of turtle species here as well! From the end of May to the end of December, Olive Ridley, Pacific Leatherback, and Hawksbill turtles all come up to lay their eggs every year. Mother Nature has truly blessed us here in Cocomar, and we hope that one day She can do the same for you.
